How to add device to Smart Reef?
In this article, you will learn how to add a Reef Factory device to a Smart reef. Before starting the configuration, make sure the device is connected to power, and generating a WiFi network.
1. Connect to your device using the mobile app.
To connect your device to your account using the Smart Reef app, your device must be connected to power and within range of your home network, and your phone or tablet. You can download the app from the Google Play shop and the Apple App Store. Open the Smart Reef app on your mobile device and then log in. If you don't already have a Smart Reef account, click "Create free account". If you don't want to, log in every time you launch the app tick "Don't log me out". |

2. Create your aquarium in the Smart Reef app.
If you don't already have an aquarium, use the 'Create Aquarium' option and then enter the information you need. If you already have your aquarium in the Smart Reef app, proceed to the next step. |
In your aquarium's profile, go to the "Devices" tab.

Then, press the plus icon to add your device. |
Allow the app to use your exact location when using the app. This will allow the app to detect your local WiFi network.

Select the device you wish to add to your Smart Reef account from the scrolling list and press 'NEXT'. |
Select "SCAN" to scan the QR code on the device, then allow the Smart Reef app to access the camera when using the app. After pressing 'SCAN', either hover your phone's camera over the QR code to scan it or manually enter the serial number of the device and select 'CONNECT'. You will find the serial number on the device, on the packaging and as a generated WiFi network. 4. Configuring the WiFi connection.
Select your 2.4 GHz home network from the list of available networks. If you do not see it in the list, make sure its signal is strong enough and press "Refresh". Then enter the password for your home router, if required, and press "NEXT". Pay attention to upper and lower case characters.
NOTE: Special characters may not be supported, if the name or password for your router contains such characters, change them in the router settings. NOTE: Reef Factory devices only support the 2.4 GHz WiFi network band. If your router generates 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, indicate the name of the 2.4 GHz network.
